Descrição

This book provides an overview of ongoing research on computational thermal radiation in participating media. Following the success of the previous Eurotherm seminars on this topic held in 2003 in Mons, Belgium, and in 2006 in Poitiers, France, the present volume contains the full-length papers of the communications presented during the seminar, which were accepted based on a peer-review process performed by the members of the Organizing and Scientific Committees and by a few other recognized experts.

The papers address new developments in Monte Carlo and solution methods for radiative transfer problems, radiative transfer in complex geometries, optically complex media, gas radiation modelling, radiative properties of particles, agglomerates and disperse systems, microscale effects, inverse methods, coupled heat transfer problems, and applications to combustion systems, fires, and atmospheric radiation.
