ANTÓNIO JORGE SOUSA is Full Professor at the Department of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Georesources of Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon) since 2003 and Researcher at the Centre of Natural Resources and Environment since 2006. In 1976, he graduated in Mining Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisboa). In 1988, he obtained his Ph.D. with a thesis on Mine Planning (Data Analysis and Multivariate Geostatistics. An application to ore typology). He has published more than 100 papers in Scientific Journals, Books and International Conferences Proceedings. He has participated in and co-ordinated several national and international R & D Projects. His main field is Data Analysis and Multivariate Spatial Statistics applied to Natural Resources and Environmental Modelling.
