IST Press is the university publisher of INSTITUTO SUPERIOR TÉCNICO, created with the purpose of making available to higher education students and teachers, as well as the general public, didactic texts of high scientific and pedagogical quality, in the areas of engineering, science and technology, arts and other cultural domains.

It aims, through the publication of books, to promote the development of engineering education and scientific research in Portugal, contribute to the consolidation of the prestige and image of IST in national terms and value the skills, knowledge and experiences existing at the Portuguese University , and in particular at the Instituto Superior Técnico. IST Press also seeks, through its publications, to highlight the multiple and complex relationships that exist between science, technology, culture and society.

Works to support teaching and research will be considered of interest for publication, but also scientific dissemination texts and works that refer to the situation of the University, its relations with society and its development perspectives.

To carry out its mission, IST Press has a text selection and evaluation component, an editorial production area and a distribution area.
