João Santa Rita

João Santa Rita is an architect (Faculdade de Arquitectura – Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, 1989), Master in Construction (Instituto Superior Técnico – Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, 1999) and is currently attending a PhD in architecture at the same university. Since 1989, he is practicing in his own office and collaborating with architects João Luis Carrilho da Graça, João Luis Sousa Menezes (Atelier Bugio), Fernando Martins, Bárbara Martins and João Pedro Falcão de Campos. He is teaching since 2001 at IADE – U Laureate International Universities (Lisboa), and is as been invited assistant at UAL – Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (2007-2010), Escola de Artes da Universidade de Évora (2015) and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (2015-2016). He is a member of the Lisbon and Tagus Valley team of the Survey on 20th Architecture in Portugal (IAP20) of the Order of Architects (2004-2005), and a member of the Portuguese team research project in Task 41 – Solar Energy and Architecture driven by the IEA – International Energy Agency (2009-2010). Since 2012 is responsible for “Energy Efficiency Action Training”, Order of Architects.
