
IST Press has its own distribution network in Portugal. It works in cooperation with international distributors, namely in Spain and Brazil. IST Press also sells directly worldwide through its online shop.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Books are supplied either on consignment or on a firm sale basis, with a discount on the retail price (VAT excluded) and payment terms to be agreed upon.
FIRM SALE
Books are dispatched with an invoice. The discount rate and payment terms are agreed directly with the client. One-time orders from new clients will be shipped after payment has been received.
CONSIGNMENT
Once a consignment agreement has been signed, books are sent with a consignment delivery note. The bookstore agrees to carry out stock reconciliation or request restocking on the agreed date, after which the corresponding invoice will be issued.
The reconciliation or restocking request must include the consignment delivery note number, as well as the titles and quantities to be invoiced or restocked.
DELIVERIES
Books are shipped via CTT Expresso, with an average delivery time of 1 to 3 business days. Shipping costs are covered by the Publisher (only in Portugal).
If, for any reason attributable to the bookstore, the delivery incurs additional costs, IST Press will issue a debit note for reimbursement.
All book deliveries include the corresponding transport document, consignment note, or invoice. The bookstore must verify that the delivery matches the order placed and confirm the number of copies received. The signed copy of the delivery document should then be returned by email.
Any claims regarding discrepancies between the delivered books and the purchase order, or differences between the transport document and the shipment received, must be reported within 5 business days of delivery. Claims made after this period will not be accepted.
RETURNS
Returns of books supplied on a firm sale basis must be made by the end of the calendar year corresponding to the invoice date, always indicating the respective invoice number and date. Only books in good condition will be accepted. Returns of damaged books or those bearing stickers or price labels will not be accepted.
For books supplied on consignment, the bookstore may return them to IST Press at any time, provided that the return note includes the number and date of the original consignment delivery note. Only books in good condition will be accepted.
In the case of defective books (printing errors or damage caused during transport), replacements will be provided upon return of the defective copies. The bookstore must contact the IST Press sales department within 30 days from the date of the consignment delivery note or invoice.

PAYMENTS
Invoices should be paid by bank transfer. To ensure proper account control and receipt issuance, all payments should include information identifying the payer and the invoices being settled.
The payment confirmation should be sent by email to: ist-press@tecnico.ulisboa.pt. The corresponding receipt will then be issued by the IST Treasury Department.

PRICE CHANGES
The Publisher reserves the right to change the retail prices of its titles at any time. Whenever a price change occurs, IST Press will notify its clients in accordance with current legislation.
